President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, began construction work on two new hotels and a shopping mall, as part of an alliance between the Wyndham, De Valle and 7Palms groups.
The President led the groundbreaking, together with the main executives of the La Quinta by Wyndham hotels, the VolaVille aircraft hotel and the Downtown 7Palms Miches, with an approximate investment of one hundred million dollars.
La Quinta will be the first mid-range luxury brand hotel in the area, and will have 79 rooms, a covered entrance, versatile meeting areas, traditional select service rooms and options adapted for families and long-stay visitors.
The Downtown 7Palms Miches, developed by the 7Palms Group, represents a crucial work for this high-growth area, and will offer a variety of services designed to improve the quality of life and the tourist experience in the region.
After making history with the first simultaneous ground mobilization of three aircraft, the definitive step is taken towards the creation of VolaVille, a one-of-a-kind luxury aircraft hotel.
Edward De Valle, CEO of the De Valle Group, noted that La Quinta Miches concludes the initial phase of the La Quinta Nationwide hotel network, which includes La Quinta Puerto Plata, scheduled to open in the summer of next year, and La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís, scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.
“This marks a significant milestone for the only company in the Dominican Republic that plans to build 4,000 limited and select service hotel rooms throughout the country,” said De Valle, master franchisee of the La Quinta brand for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in the Dominican Republic.
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, highlighted the importance of these three new projects, which will strengthen Miches as a diversified destination.
He stated that the tourist development of Miches is a fact and that this destination will contribute 1.2 billion dollars to the Gross Domestic Product and will guarantee the arrival of some 200 thousand new tourists.
Carlos Rafael Manzano, CEO of 7Palms, highlighted that “Downtown 7Palms Miches” is a flagship project of 25 million dollars, which will serve as a central point of progress in the region, combining commercial, residential, hotel, entertainment and leisure establishments in the midst of the natural and unique landscape of Miches.
Manzano added that the services associated with Downtown 7Palms Miches will complement the tourist and residential offering, offering diverse activities in one place, which will enrich community life and increase economic opportunities.
The businessman also indicated that VolaVille is much more than a hotel: it is an architectural masterpiece that fuses innovation and natural beauty in Miches. Each aircraft will have two master suites, for a total of six suites, with unique designs and thematic inspiration, as well as a decoration characterized by finely selected materials.
