Punta Cana International Airport among the 10 most improved in the world

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) has been recognized among the 10 most improved airports in the world by 2025, according to the prestigious annual ranking by Skytrax, the leading global organization in airport quality assessment. This recognition highlights the airport’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and passenger experience, attributes that have been strengthened through significant investments in infrastructure, technology, and service quality in recent years.

The Skytrax ranking considers the opinions of millions of passengers worldwide, as well as audits on aspects such as wait times, quality of immigration and security processes, cleanliness, passenger services, signage, connectivity, and more.

In recent years, Punta Cana Airport has undergone significant transformations, including:

  • Expansion and modernization of its terminals.
  • Improvements in immigration and customs flows.
  • Implementation of self-service technology for check-in and boarding.
  • New retail, dining, and VIP lounge areas.
  • Increased routes and frequencies to key destinations in Europe, North America, and South America.

This progress strengthens the destination’s competitiveness and contributes significantly to the country’s economic development, positioning the Dominican Republic as a regional hub with high airport quality standards.
