Grupo Posadas announced the opening of the new Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana resort, scheduled for the summer of 2025. The property will be adjacent to the Live Aqua property the tourism group already operates in the Dominican Republic’s largest vacation destination.

Information about the new hotel complex was revealed during the recent DATE 2025 celebrations, at an exclusive event attended by tour operators and the group’s main production accounts, according to a press release.

During the event, Tania Berger, president of Berger Group Hotels, expressed her enthusiasm for the opening of Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana. She also shared the news about the acquisition of a new hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, which will also be operated by Grupo Posadas.

Enrique Calderón, vice president of Upscale & Luxury Operations at Grupo Posadas, explained that the name “Funeeq” comes from the combination of the words “fun” and “unique,” reflecting the resort’s essence: offering unique and fun experiences for all guests. The concept represents the brand’s vision of celebrating life through memorable moments, whether with family, friends, or in the corporate setting.

Among the new resort’s main attractions are a water park for all ages, a bowling center, paddle tennis courts, basketball courts and soccer fields. In addition, the resort will share a modern convention center with Live Aqua Punta Cana, featuring 10 multifunctional rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, ideal for events and celebrations.
