Punta Cana Airport has earned Level 3 Customer Experience Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI), in recognition of its ongoing commitment to improving the passenger experience. This distinction, part of ACI’s global accreditation program, evaluates and certifies the strategies and practices implemented by airports to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
The certification will be valid for one year, from August 7, 2025, to August 6, 2026, and consolidates Punta Cana Airport’s leadership in the region as a benchmark in passenger service.
“These achievements reaffirm our commitment to continue innovating and perfecting every aspect of the airport experience, always putting the passenger at the center of our actions,” said Giovanni Rainieri, Director of Airside Operations at the airport. For her part, Raquel Carvalho, Assistant Manager, Customer Engagement and Administration at ACI, said, “On behalf of all of ACI, we congratulate you on this achievement and applaud your dedication to improving the customer experience.”
The airport also earned a 4-star Skytrax seal of approval, a quality seal awarded to airports that offer high-level facilities and services verified through audit visits, which validate everything from infrastructure, processing services, ambiance and the level of passenger experiences.
In the case of Punta Cana Airport, an exhaustive 3-day audit was conducted, which tested the functional facilities and services provided by the airport to its passengers and visitors, as well as the ambiance and type of experiences enjoyed throughout its facilities. Among the notable improvements are the interior renovation and expansion of the check-in area, which is now above the standard compared to other airports; improved seating arrangements, family-friendly amenities; improved infrastructure and retail and dining offerings; and the systems implemented for streamlined passenger processing.
With these recognitions, PUJ continues to position itself among the most prominent airports in Latin America and the Caribbean, aligned with international best practices and focused on offering a safe, efficient, and memorable travel experience.
