The Tourism Trade Fair DATE, the most important in the Dominican Republic, will be held next week at the Paradisus Palma Real hotel with a renewed focus on environmental sustainability.
This edition, which will take place from April 24 until April 26, marks the annual meeting between local and international tourism companies under the auspices of the Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).
The inaugural program will formally begin on Wednesday, with a ceremony at the Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort. Before that, on Tuesday, a pre-cocktail party will be held at the Nickelodeon Hotel and Resort Punta Cana. On Thursday and Friday the event will move to the Paradisus Palma Real, where business deals, press conferences, signing of agreements and commercial meetings will be held.
On Thursday night, a social activity is scheduled at the Secrets Tides by Hyatt Inclusive Collection. In addition, press sessions have been planned from Wednesday morning at the Therrestra Hall, covering the signing of agreements, awards, hotel presentations and important announcements, extending until Friday.
One of the main innovations this year is the focus on reducing CO2 emissions during the event. The Paradisus Palma Real has implemented a system of 926 solar modules with an installed capacity of 500 kilowatts, which will produce 936,000 kilowatts annually. This production will completely offset the energy used in the convention halls during the fair, thus reflecting the event’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
