The Dominican Republic surpassed last year’s visitor arrivals, reaching 11,268,973 as of December 24, 2025. Minister Collado emphasized that sharing “this achievement on such a special day as Christmas reminds us that when we work with passion, commitment, and love for our country, the results follow.”
This information was shared during a meeting between the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and his marketing team. The data above highlights that the country closed 2024 with 11,192,047 visitors, receiving 8,535,742 tourists by air and 2,656,305 by cruise ship during the January-December period, a figure already surpassed by December 24, 2025.
Collado emphasized that, by the end of 2025, the country expects to receive 11.6 million visitors. Figures as of December 21: 627,000 tourists were received as of December 21, matching the total for December 2019, the pre-pandemic year.
“In December alone, tourism made history once again: 42,949 tourists registered the highest daily arrival rate by air ever recorded, and 120,475 tourists made it the best weekend ever for Dominican tourism,” he highlighted in a message on his social media.
“We are building the best moment in Dominican Republic tourism, surpassing our own records!” He added that “the results of this historic December go far beyond records, reflected in more than 73,000 jobs, RD$7.699 billion in tax revenue, and a contribution of US$2.614 billion to the national GDP.”
