Saona Island continues as the most demanded Excursion by tourists


16% of visitors who went on tourist excursions in the Dominican Republic in January 2025 visited Saona Island, located in the east of the country in the Cotubanamá National Park.


The information was offered by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, when presenting the results of the arrival of visitors to the country last January 2025.


11% went snorkeling, and 9% visited the Colonial City and equally went on Buggy Ride excursions. 4% visited Catalina Island, went Ziplining, played Golf and Horseback Riding. 3% visited Cayo Levantado or a Theme Park.


2% went on excursions to Los Haitises and the rest with 1% went Kayaking, visited Altos de Chavón, Hoyo Azul and the 27 Charcos.


46% of visitors who came to the country went on an excursion, while 83% would repeat the activity and 38% bought the activity directly.


January satisfaction registered 4.4%, with 92% who would return and 58% who would recommend the country.


Last January 2025, the country received 1,155,484 visitors, with the arrival by air of 759,929 tourists and 395,555 cruise passengers.
