The St. Regis Cap Cana officially opens its doors in the Dominican Republic


The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort officially opened its doors on May 1st, adding one of Marriott Hotels International‘s most iconic luxury brands to the Dominican Republic’s hotel offerings.

The hotel chain announced the announcement with the following message: “The wait is over: your journey to the extraordinary begins here. Welcome to The St. Regis Cap Cana.”

Additionally, the Pioneer Investment Fund Management Company announced that it officially handed over the St. Regis Cap Cana hotel to the Marriott International team at a meeting attended by key representatives from all involved parties: Pioneer, Campagna Ricart & Asociados, and Marriott.

Marriott represented Hugo Desenzani, Vice President of Operations CALA; David Alemán, Director of Global Design CALA; and Laura Santoni, General Manager of St. Regis Cap Cana. Also present were Dino Campagna of Campagna Ricart & Asociados; Héctor Garrido; and Yamil Isaías of Pioneer.

St. Regis Cap Cana, an asset of the Pioneer Partnership Development Fund, with 100% Dominican capital, brings to the country one of the most iconic luxury brands worldwide. This handover marks a milestone for Dominican tourism and the Caribbean,” Pioneer stated.

In that sense, Santoni, general manager of The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort, told arecoa.com that “we are very happy to be able to open a hotel of this caliber within the Marriott brand, since The St. Regis is one of our most luxurious brands, and being able to open a hotel of this caliber in the Dominican Republic, and within Cap Cana, makes us feel fortunate.”

He indicated that the hotel’s opening will increase the level of service and guest experience to ultra-luxury levels within the Dominican Republic and Cap Cana.

We are pioneers in the market, bringing ultra-luxury property and service with a hotel of this size, but I know that more establishments in the same segment will follow later, because we won’t be the only ones,” he said.

The executive emphasized that it is very important for the country to expand and expand its ultra-luxury offering, as the Dominican Republic and the eastern region are experiencing a very interesting and attractive moment in the American, European, and Latin American markets, as there is ample capacity for airline seats arriving at the destination.

Santoni noted that The St. Regis Cap Cana opened its reservation system in 2024 and since then, rooms have been booked for late April, May, and June, with notable group accommodations and several events scheduled for the fall.
