W Punta Cana Adults All-Inclusive opens: a milestone in Luxury Hospitality in the Caribbean




Marriott International, Grupo Puntacana, and Mac Hotels held the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive, the first W Hotels brand resort in the world under the “all-inclusive, adults-only” concept.



The event was attended by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader; the Minister of Tourism, David Collado; as well as senior executives from Marriott International, represented by Brian King, President of Marriott International for the Caribbean and Latin America; from Mac Hotels, represented by Begoña Amengual, CEO of the company; and from Grupo Puntacana, Frank Elías Rainieri, President and CEO.



Located in the idyllic Uvero Alto area, the new resort redefines contemporary luxury with more than 340 rooms and suites, 12 restaurants celebrating the richness of Dominican and international cuisine, an AWAY Spa with world-class facilities, and immersive experiences designed exclusively for adults, focused on music, wellness and avant-garde design. This project represents a strategic collaboration between Marriott International, Grupo Puntacana, and Mac Hotels, consolidating Punta Cana as an epicenter of high-end hospitality in the Caribbean.



During the ceremony, President Luis Abinader highlighted the positive impact this type of investment has on the country’s tourism and economic development. Tourism Minister David Collado celebrated the arrival of an iconic brand like W Hotels to the Dominican Republic’s portfolio. Brian King, for his part, highlighted the strategic importance of the Dominican market for Marriott International, affirming the company’s vision to continue strengthening the destination with flagship projects and the incorporation of the most recognized brands in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.



Begoña Amengual also praised the project’s architectural design, conceived to inspire new generations of hoteliers toward greater sustainability and respect for the environment. She also highlighted the partnership between Marriott International, Grupo Puntacana and Mac Hotels as a driving force for the education and training of thousands of people, boosting their professional and personal development.



The resort prepared a series of activations around the event, in a festive atmosphere enlivened by music at sunset, evoking the vibrant essence of the W brand and the island.
